The battle between OTT and IPTV Data Streaming

Widespread high-speed access to the Internet, while reducing the cost of traffic is becoming more common in our country. Also, service providers are paying much attention to the modernization of the equipment of the "last mile," which significantly improves the quality of technical support for customers, and provides new service opportunities. The number of Internet users is growing both through the development of wired and wireless networks, as well as by a huge selection of multimedia devices, such as phones, tablets, laptops, which are mainly used as the subscriber devices to access media resources.

Paradoxically, IPTV - is not TV that is broadcasted over the Internet. Despite the fact that the reduction of "IP" is derived from "Internet Protocol," it does not mean that people can go to a favorite Web page to watch your favorite TV show. "IP" in the case of IPTV is a method of transmitting information via a secure managed network.

IPTV-networks are usually created and are accompanied by major telecommunications providers, who are aiming to create a service capable of competing with existing digital and satellite TV.

In the OTT model, the publisher, has a direct channel of communication with the consumer, regardless of the Internet service provider or cable operator. OTT approach is as independent of the user equipment as possible. Customer access to TV is not limited to his TV in the living room.

Over The Top Content is also integrated into the user's life, as the Web today. Mechanisms of publication, access, and retrieval of resources on the Internet shortly will connect seamlessly with video and television world.

OTT is growth rather than restructuring. OTT today can work on the existing infrastructure, including ADSL, broadband, WI-FI, cable and satellite channels. OTT uses the model of global accessibility, where video and television services can physically be provided on the same continent, and be available on the other, as long as it does not conflict with the rights to the distribution of content.
